Given the right Platform
All of us have the potential but most of the time it remains untapped when not given an opportunity. All of us have many things to share. Most of it comes from our day to day experiences, working environment, interactions with friends or collegues and awareness of the surroundings. Putting it into words is different story. Do it well and people would start calling you a Writer !!
I am not even close to a writer, its just recently i started to explore my writing skills. As i have mentioned in my in introductory post, i got inspired by the people who are best in what i always loved to do (build applications using Lotus Notes). Only 2 days of blogging, i am quite amazed with the impact it has had on me. Things around seem more important me than they ever did. My awareness level has increased and i think i am a better writer now (many may oppose it though !!).
Yesterday i happen to introduce my blog to a very old and close friend of mine, Teju. Knowing her for 8 years now, she never gave me a chance to see her intelligent side. She read my blog and appreicated of what i wrote (i loved being appreicated .. ofcourse anyone would). Later i spoke to her and realised that she was interested in sharing her experiences too. So that was it. Nothing stopped her from starting her own blog (she needed a little help though) and she was off. I was expecting her writings to reveal her general ways of being i.e. which always enjoying life and not too bothered .. kind of a cool and let go attitude.
But NO. I was totally wrong. She is a totally different person when it come to writing or maybe its someone else who is writing for her :-). But i totally disagree on the latter, she is a person with a lot of experiences which she can translate very well. Her recent post, totally changed my attitude towards her. Now i respect her more than i ever did (dont get flattered teju) and i am always eager to read her posts ( i am sure there must be one coming up now as i type).
To sum up,everyone has ideas but we tend to hesitate and keep them with ourselves (most of the time).
Blogs has changed all that (definately for me and surely for many people out there). It is a platform where one could express thoughts too the fullest and recieve feedbacks, which in itself is a huge learning experience.
So i hope to continue writing and keep improving in expressing what i personally feel and owe it all to Teju.
Hence, Given the right Platform can do Wonders !!
